Tejal Gyan Chandigarh:
Prominent Sikh farmer leader, President of Chandigarh unit of All India Jatt Mahasabha and National Delegate of Mahasabha S. Rajinder Singh Badheri has strongly condemned the brutal caning of farmers in Karnal yesterday.
Releasing a statement to the press today, Mr. Badheri said that Sushil Kajal, a farmer of Raipur Jattan village in Karnal district, who was badly injured during the peaceful struggle, died today. Farmer leader Badheri said that the martyrdom of this farmer would not go unnoticed.
Mr. Badheri said that the SDM of Karnal had issued a dictatorial order to brutally beat the Anandata farmers. That IAS officer should be prosecuted for ‘intent-to-murder’ and dismissed.
Mr. Badheri also said that in fact all this had happened at the behest of the state and central leaders of the BJP. He said that instead of repealing the three controversial Agriculture Laws, the Modi government was now resorting to violence against the farmers. He said that Assembly elections were to be held in many states including Uttar Pradesh next year and the people would then give a firm answer to the BJP and would never forgive for such awkward moves.
Mr. Badheri said that the atrocities perpetrated on the farmers would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
