Union Government should also Listen Quickly to the Agitating Farmers: Rajinder Singh Badheri

Tejal Gyan Chandigarh:
Prominent Sikh farmer leader, the President of Chandigarh unit of All India Jatt Mahasabha and National Delegate of Mahasabha S. Rajinder Singh Badheri said that just as the Haryana government and the Karnal district administration had reached an agreement with the agitating farmers and sent the accused officer on leave to set up an inquiry, so should do the Union government in Delhi. We should reach a consensus by talking to the sitting farmers.

Releasing a statement to the media here today, Mr. Badheri said that farmers have been roaming on the streets of the capital for the last nine and a half months and about 500 farmers had lost their lives during the dharna. We must listen to the farmers who are struggling and with rain, wind, heat and winter.

Mr. Badheri also said that many other areas associated with the peasant movement were also being affected by the struggle. There are five to seven family members behind each farmer; All of them are furious and frustrated with the stubborn attitude of the central government.

Mr. Rajinder Singh Badheri said that the Union Government should immediately repeal the three Agricultural Laws by recognizing the demands of the farmers and listen to the views of the farmers on other issues including MSP.
