Chandigarh, 14 October
The prominent Sikh farmer leader National Delegate and State President All India Jatt Maha Sabha Chandigarh Pradesh Rajinder Singh Badheri criticized the Modi government, alleging that it was bent on ruining Punjab by giving more rights to the BSF and the State Government has not even been asked about it. This is a direct attack on the rights of the state, which will never be tolerated.
He clarified that if the police work is to be done by the BSF, then who will guard the borders. Targeting the Government, he said that a force like BSF should be kept away from civilian activities at any cost so that it may retain its status and respect.
The farmer leader appealed to the Narendra Modi Government to stop interfering in the affairs of the states, otherwise it would face the wrath of the people. Badheri asked what happened that the BSF had to give additional powers. “This is sheer discrimination, which will never be tolerated,” he said.
Badheri also slammed Capt Amarinder Singh’s support for the move saying that Capt was supporting the BJP’s action out of despair and in a frenzy.
